Chris Makin of Makin Enterprises, a passionate aviator, bought Church Fenton, a former RAF station, in 2014 from the Ministry of Defence. In 2015, Chris returned it to operational glory as Yorkshire’s newest aviation destination. The same year, he launched Makin Air – a bespoke, private aviation service based at Leeds East that offers safe, discreet and reliable travel by helicopter and business jet.
FOUNDED ON A TRADITION OF INNOVATION
Church Fenton quickly attracted attention from businesses as well as the film and television industry, and became popular with production companies wishing to exploit its size and scope.
Today, a galvanising mix of businesses and individuals make Church Fenton what it is: a modern aviation, film production, business and events hub, that feeds on diversity and an entrepreneurial spirit.
